This project is for neighbourhood improvements around Cuckmere lane and Studland close for Southampton City Council as part of their Decent Neighbourhoods Scheme. This project involves a vast array of works to the hard and soft landscaping of the public areas of the estate which includes but is not limited to;

– The breaking out and full reconstruction of the carriageways around the estate, maintaining access at all times utilising traffic management conforming to Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual Code of Practice.

– The construction, surfacing, kerbing and edging of footways with lighting column installations, bollard installations and other street furniture e.g. benches

– Works to Car Parking areas including the installation of barriers and gates, thermoplastic lining for road markings and carpark bays, relocation of carpark barriers and intercoms etc.

– The demolition and reconstruction of Bin Stores

– Block and flag paving to pedestrian areas, including new aesthetic installations.

– The demolition and reconstruction / rejuvenation of resident garages.

– Soft landscaping of common areas, including the installation of new vegetation and tree pits.

– The installation of new fencing including bespoke fencing.

– The installation/remediation of drainage including the raising/installation of new manholes and gullies to the carriageways and the installation of ACO drainage.

– The installation of ducting for electrical installation.

Traffic management and the protection of the general public was an integral part of this project where the access was to be maintained at all times. This also included access to an adjacent school and the safeguarding of the surrounding schoolchildren and residents of the estate from our works. Clear and concise communication with the residents was carried out keeping them informed.
